ho ho ho!

I thought i'd do a christmas post as I've seen a lot of other bloggers doing the same! I was really spoilt again this year and I really do love all my presents. I got a mixture of beauty products, a cd and dvd, a gig ticket to see justin bieber at the o2 in march (favourite present) and some sentimental gifts from close family. just like everyone else I love receiving presents, but my favourite part about christmas is giving gifts and that lovely feeling you get when they love what you've got them!

I've been dying to get Kate Moss lipstick for a while now and my mum was fantastic and went and bought me one! the colour/texture/smell are gorgeous and the shade is number 08. I saw these nail varnishes in a friend's Avon catalogue and my mum being the babe that she is said I could get some to put away for christmas. also, to my surprise she got me two Rimmel varnishes which are really nice!

My mum knows how much I adore Gabrielle Aplin. and when I heard this cover she did for the John Lewis christmas advert, I was incredibly eager to purchase this. so my mum being cheeky as ever told me I'm not allowed to buy it as she had already bought me it for christmas! this wonderful DVD put a huge smile on my face as I have loved them since I was a little girl. I was lucky enough to see them in LDN on their farewell tour and this was definitely top of my wish list! and those little carton shaped boxes are rubbers that smell really yummy.

my lovely sister saw this on my amazon wish list and knew it was a priority ;-) she also got my the little "reasons to be happy book" below, which is the cutest little book ever!

I received this wonderful present today! It's an iPod dock, CD player and a AM/FM radio. It is just perfect!

this lovely little plaque was given to me by one of my big sisters. I'm very close to my sisters and this was one of my favourite presents :-)

so what did you get for christmas?

I've also taken some photos of our cute decorations

I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Seeing as it's NYE i'd also like to say I hope the new year brings you happiness and success in all things you do.

'cause you're a mountain

well this is where I spend most of my time if I'm at home. I recently spent 8 hours re-arranging, cleaning, clearing out and packing up my bedroom. I am finally happy with what my room looks like, but unfortunately we're selling the house, and i'm extremely gutted it's taken this long to make it my own. I adore my bedroom and I thought i'd post a few photos showing you what's in it.

for my AS art final piece I did a painting and then melted wax crayons all over it. we couldn't really find anywhere to hang it because of it's enormity, so it ended up on my bedroom wall above my desk. I didn't like the idea at first but I feel it really completes my room and I enjoy looking at it from time to time. I have a nice little collection of VOGUE, ELLE and oh comely magazines which keep me busy and inspired when needed. I have a load of family photos that will always have a place in my bedroom. the first thing a lot of people notice when entering my room is the amount of candles I have. I adore candles - they just make everything that little bit nicer.

I also felt the need to post these photos of my dog, tarzan, as a puppy. he was so cute aljhfjdkslkjdh

so much changes

on saturday we had some family/family friends round, and as a christmas present I offered to take some photos of the children as they had asked me previously. I'd be lying if I said it was easy to take these - it was a complete and utter mission to get them to stay still for literally a few seconds. although I took them with great difficulty, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I'm slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things. I will be seeing this little girl (my mum's friend's daughter) on wednesday as it is her 2nd birthday, so it'll give me the perfect opportunity to take some more. her name is ellie-rose and she is just such a lovely little girl, which makes the process even more wonderful!

here are a few, and I'll be posting some new ones during the week.

can't wait to post more of this darling girl

tiger, tiger

I have a mini photo shoot this weekend so this post won't be anything too exciting. last week the sky was covered in stars and the moon was full. I couldn't resist getting my camera out and trying to capture the picture perfect moment. unfortunately the telephoto lens I own is the cheapest one you can get, and the moon just looked like a glowing blob. three of them looked ok but nothing special sadly. I thought i'd post something while I'm in a creative mood. I have been drawing for a few hours and I'm enjoying myself a huge amount.

in the next few weeks I will do a christmas themed post. this weather has it's positives as the icy trees and plants looks beautiful, so hopefully I can get some lovely photos out of it.

like I said, nothing special but it fills space ;-)

quicksand

I arrived home at around 3:30pm today, and on my way home all I could see was a magnificent sunset. In photography, the golden hour (sometimes known as magic hour) is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day, when a specific photographic effect is achieved due to the quality of the light. these 2 hours of the day are my absolute favourite. photographing them are something I really enjoy and look forward to. fortunately I got home just in time to run upstairs and take some photos. It's amazing how the sky can look so beautiful every day.

because of this awful, miserable weather I decided to stay inside to take the photos. so I took advantage of the fact the windows were going to be in the shots. these are up in my top 3 type of photos to take, the lighting never fails to amaze me and look outstanding.

it's a wonderful life

I adore animals, and sometimes it is a real mission to get a decent photo of one. my sister was recently given 6 cute little birds (I don't know what kind) and they have such beautiful markings, I couldn't resist attempting to take some photos. Although these are in black and white, the markings are still gorgeous and they're incredibly photogenic. unfortunately only 3 of them were decent enough to post, hence the lack of photos you'll be looking at.
