back to where we started

over the past few days I've been looking through old photographs I've taken. I feel that my old photographs are a lot more "me", and I'd very much like to get back to that. don't get me wrong, I feel I've come on as a photographer and I've some what developed my skills. but I'm currently lacking drive/"oomph" and I think it shows in my work.

despite the horrible weather that is england right now, I braved the cold and did a photo shoot outside. I put my earphones in, turned my music loud enough to block out everything else and went for it. I enjoyed myself to say the least. and as cliche as it sounds I felt like I'd gotten a little bit of the old me and put it into the photos.

I still struggle to be proud of something I've produced, and these aren't something I'm particularly pleased with - but I feel a lot happier to post these as they're more "me". I have such an incredible amount of growing to do, and you don't really stop growing as an artist, so it's only up from here. I still have my project to get on with, so I am looking forward to starting that again.

the people reading this are more than likely to be people I know. so please If you do read this/my blog, let me know what you think? give me feedback, good or bad. it really would help me.

ho ho ho!

I thought i'd do a christmas post as I've seen a lot of other bloggers doing the same! I was really spoilt again this year and I really do love all my presents. I got a mixture of beauty products, a cd and dvd, a gig ticket to see justin bieber at the o2 in march (favourite present) and some sentimental gifts from close family. just like everyone else I love receiving presents, but my favourite part about christmas is giving gifts and that lovely feeling you get when they love what you've got them!

I've been dying to get Kate Moss lipstick for a while now and my mum was fantastic and went and bought me one! the colour/texture/smell are gorgeous and the shade is number 08. I saw these nail varnishes in a friend's Avon catalogue and my mum being the babe that she is said I could get some to put away for christmas. also, to my surprise she got me two Rimmel varnishes which are really nice!

My mum knows how much I adore Gabrielle Aplin. and when I heard this cover she did for the John Lewis christmas advert, I was incredibly eager to purchase this. so my mum being cheeky as ever told me I'm not allowed to buy it as she had already bought me it for christmas! this wonderful DVD put a huge smile on my face as I have loved them since I was a little girl. I was lucky enough to see them in LDN on their farewell tour and this was definitely top of my wish list! and those little carton shaped boxes are rubbers that smell really yummy.

my lovely sister saw this on my amazon wish list and knew it was a priority ;-) she also got my the little "reasons to be happy book" below, which is the cutest little book ever!

I received this wonderful present today! It's an iPod dock, CD player and a AM/FM radio. It is just perfect!

this lovely little plaque was given to me by one of my big sisters. I'm very close to my sisters and this was one of my favourite presents :-)

so what did you get for christmas?

I've also taken some photos of our cute decorations

I hope you all had a fantastic christmas. Seeing as it's NYE i'd also like to say I hope the new year brings you happiness and success in all things you do.

'cause you're a mountain

well this is where I spend most of my time if I'm at home. I recently spent 8 hours re-arranging, cleaning, clearing out and packing up my bedroom. I am finally happy with what my room looks like, but unfortunately we're selling the house, and i'm extremely gutted it's taken this long to make it my own. I adore my bedroom and I thought i'd post a few photos showing you what's in it.

for my AS art final piece I did a painting and then melted wax crayons all over it. we couldn't really find anywhere to hang it because of it's enormity, so it ended up on my bedroom wall above my desk. I didn't like the idea at first but I feel it really completes my room and I enjoy looking at it from time to time. I have a nice little collection of VOGUE, ELLE and oh comely magazines which keep me busy and inspired when needed. I have a load of family photos that will always have a place in my bedroom. the first thing a lot of people notice when entering my room is the amount of candles I have. I adore candles - they just make everything that little bit nicer.

I also felt the need to post these photos of my dog, tarzan, as a puppy. he was so cute aljhfjdkslkjdh
